Ian nailed the triathlon - Here’s his race report…

Wow, wow and wow
Did it J

What a contrast to last year. Rain, mud and swimming through lakes was replaced with sunshine, firm footing and a gentle breeze. With ideal conditions, we had a fantastic turnout of 23, and thought we might be in with a shout of gaining the mob trophy outright this year.
I have always said that I would never run a marathon. When I started running with Run to Live Running Club, 18 months ago, I still believed that. Anyway, to cut a long story short, this was to be my second marathon and my first London. My place came via the ballot which opened the day after my first marathon, Milton Keynes, in April 2012.
Results from this weeks orienteering event. Congratulations to all who took part.

My route into running was the well trodden Route of the Foolish; apply for the London Marathon safe in the knowledge that you won’t get in, get in and panic, realise that you can’t run a bath without hyperventilating, seek help, learn to run in a bid to make the distance in one piece with the focus always being on miles covered and not, time taken.
